About the course
During this one-day workshop, we will focus on the following topics which we believe are core relationship skills for creating and sustaining healthy and stable intimate relationships:
After a light introduction, we will practice hands-on exercises in small groups or pairs. This gives you the chance to get hands-on practice, feedback, and practical experience of the topics above. As an example, this will give you the chance to experience how it feels when someone is really listening to you, and you will also practice what it is like to listen with presence and empathy.
The course is held in English.
The maximum number of participants will be limited to 28, and it is therefore recommended that you register as soon as possible. If you have any questions, then please send an email to henrik@henrikfrid.com in either Swedish or English.
About the trainers
Ian Peatey and Henrik Frid have been collaborating since 2022 after meeting at the International Intensive Training in Nonviolent Communication in Finland. Ian and his wife are both certified trainers in nonviolent communication, and together they created the course Extraordinary Intimate Relationships, which is a six months online program that has been running for 7 editions. Henrik participated in Ian and Monica's course together with his girlfriend during 2023, and found it to be very helpful. This one-day workshop is a stand-alone course where we teach practical communication skills and facilitate hands-on exercises that have worked well in our experiences.

Ian Peatey was born in the UK in 1963 and lived in Eastern Europe (Poland and Romania) since 1994. He discovered NVC in 2001 and worked with Marshall Rosenberg before completing his training as a Certified Trainer in Nonviolent Communication in 2008. Currently he is on one of the governing bodies of the Center for Nonviolent Communication and is one of their Assessors. He is married and has three children and one grandchild. For more information, visit ianpeatey.com.

Henrik Frid is a candidate to become a certified trainer in Nonviolent Communication since 2023. His experience in communication comes primarily from his work as a leader in Swedish industry. He currently serves on the board of the Swedish NVC association and is part of the organizing team for the 2025 International Intensive Training in Sweden. In addition to applying NVC in industrial and organizational contexts, Henrik is interested in how communication training supports intimate relationships and parenting. He lives with his girlfriend and daughter.
About you
This workshop is for you if you are interested in exploring how practicing your communication skills can empower you and support you in relationships. This is a good opportunity to practice together with your partner, and we do offer a "couple's discount" in how the sliding scales are adjusted. At the same time, we recognize that not everyone have the opportunity to bring their partner to the workshop. Furthermore, we believe that practicing communication skills and learning about the dymanics of healthy relationships will empower you also if you are single. We believe that this course contributes to people in all walks of life, and we expect the group to be a mix of couples and singles.
The exercises and lectures will be adjusted to benefit participants of all skill levels. You can come with zero prior knowledge of Nonviolent Communication, or you could have significant experience of Nonviolent Communication and an interest to apply these skills to intimate relationships.
